KIDS CHRISTMAS UPCYCLED CRAFT CONTEST

This Christmas, we invite you to share your creativity and celebrate the wonder of the season through our Children’s Christmas Upcycled Craft Competition. Our theme, “Reason for the Season,” inspires young artists to capture the magic and promise of the first Christmas using recyclables or upcycled materials. Through this competition, we aim to highlight that hope and beauty can emerge from even the simplest of things.

COMPETITION CATEGORIES:

  1. Age 5 – 8 years (as of 7 Dec 2024)

  2. Ages 9 – 12 years (as of 7 Dec 2024)

HOW TO ENTER:

  1. Create a Christmas-themed craft that is made up of at least 80% upcycled materials (e.g., cardboard, plastic bottles, old magazines, fabric scraps, etc.) which is no bigger than 30cm x 30cm x 30cm.

  2. Submit your entries at the “Celebrating Christmas” registration table at Siglap Community Club, Basketball Court.

  3. Submissions will be collected on 7 December 2024 from 3pm to 5pm

TERMS & CONDITIONS

  1. Each participant can submit only one craft entry.

  2. All entries must be no bigger than 30cm x 30cm x 30cm.

  3. All entries must be submitted by the specified deadline.

  4. Submitted craft entries must be made of at least 80% upcycled materials.

  5. Only children between 5 to 12 years of age are eligible to participate.

  6. By entering the competition, participants agree to have their photos and crafts shared on our website and social media platforms.

  7. Judges’ decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding their decision.

  8. Any entries deemed inappropriate or not aligned with the Christmas theme will be disqualified.

  9. The organizers are not responsible for any loss or damage to entries submitted in person.

  10. Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or other items.

  11. Participants must be physically present when the winners are announced on 7 December, 6:30pm - 8pm.

  12. By participating, the entrant agrees to abide by these terms and conditions.

JUDGING CRITERIA

  1. Creativity (30%) - Originality of design and creative use of recycled materials.

  2. Christmas Theme (25%) - How well the craft captures the spirit of Christmas.

  3. Use and Incorporation of Upcycled Materials (25%) - The percentage and type of upcycled materials used, and how the upcycled materials are effectively incorporated into the design.

  4. Presentation & Neatness (20%) - Overall visual appeal, craftsmanship, and attention to detail.
